The Beauty of Being Lost | Chris Zahariev | TEDxInnsbruck

You have heard about hobbies, such as yoga, skiing, golf but have you come across an activity called “Getting lost on purpose”? That’s the extraordinary hobby of Chris Zahariev. Instead of sticking to the well-known, he would hop off trains in small villages that caught his eye. From day trips to an entire summer, he embraced the uncertainty of not knowing where he would sleep, eat, or whom he would meet. Along the way, he encountered fascinating people whose stories he shares in his talk. The years went by and he started to work more and more in the film industry with his passion for untold stories and the fire of curiosity for the world we live in. There’s something in common with every single project he starts. He feels lost. But the truth is we all feel lost in life. We don’t know where we’re going or how we even get to where we are in the first place. But one thing is for sure. There’s beauty in being lost. There’s adventure and growth. There’s life. Because when you’re lost you have the opportunity to find yourself again.
