Curtin University's Rob Riley Memorial Lecture on 6th May 2011, was presented by Ken Wyatt Am MP JP, who discussed breaking through the 'brown glass ceiling', based on the ongoing gender equality debate on the 'glass ceiling.'

In this case, the debate focused on society's expectation that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people operate at less than optimum level in comparison to non-Indigenous Australians in equivalent situation and positions.
