Four Republican presidential candidates squared off Wednesday night in Alabama as they try to cut into former President Trump's lead in the 2024 GOP primary.

The debate, hosted by The Hill’s sister network NewsNation, featured Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Former President Trump skipped the event again, instead attending a private fundraiser in Florida.
