Thiru. Mohan Pyare, IAS, Principal Secretary, Labour and Employment, Govt of Tamil Nadu, enlightened the gathering with the initiatives taken by the government in skilling the students from the ITIs. He stated that industry players should visit the institutions, assess the students on the skills required by them and take steps to bridge the skill gap identified in the process. The Principal Secretary also mentioned that the government is to skill twenty million people in the next ten to twelve years will comprise up skilling the existing work force and the students. In this purview said Thiru Mohan that NSDC has already identified certain quality training institutions and students are deputed to those institutions for training and the government is paying the fee.
