Kaleidoscope Play & Learn Webinar: How Children Learn About Human Diversit |
![]() |
"The preschool years are critical; they are the first, most fundamental period when children are in fact noticing who they are and are noticing the attitudes and the stereotypes and the discomforts or the positive messages about their skin color, their racial identity, their ethnic identity, and so on" Louise Derman-Sparks, Early Learning Educator
Children are born learning and one of the things they learn about is human differences. They learn that people can have different skin color, speak with a different sounds and rhythms, and come in different sizes. They also learn about what their families and society feels about these difference. From this learning, children develop their own ideas and attitudes about racial, cultural, gender and other differences. Please join us for this thought-provoking, intereactive webinar to learn more about how children learn about differences. Theressa Lenear, Child Care Resources' Diversity & Training Manager, will lead our learning and discussion. Theressa has a wealth of knowledge and experience in guiding people of all ages in their understanding of differences and how racism and bias shape our self-identities and experiences in our world. |
