The United States has reacted to the ongoing row over a BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which has sparked controversy since its release. State Department Spokesperson Ned Price said that he is not familiar with the documentary but is very familiar with the shared values of India and the U.S. Ned Price dubbed "India's democracy a vibrant one" and even stressed "exceptionally deep ties." Before the U.S. government, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak had defended PM Modi and said that he "doesn't agree with the characterisation" of his Indian counterpart in the series.
