There are times in life when we choose to go it alone because we believe there is no one to turn to. Our first response to a difficult situation is often to react and make snap decisions. However, our best response should always be to turn to the Lord and seek His guidance.

In this message, “Encouraging Ourselves,” Dr. Stanley reminds us that God is our Shield and Protector and He promises to guide us through difficult times. Any time we’re willing to acknowledge our inadequacy and ask the Lord to give us direction, He will. Instead of relying on our abilities, we need to rely on His. Looking back on God’s track record of faithfulness can be a valuable source of encouragement during challenging times. When we have no one else to turn to, we can find encouragement by going to the Lord for guidance.
