American comedian Jesse Appell discusses his journey through Chinese comedy. The Great LOL of China is part standup, part comedy lecture, and all about what’s funny in China right now. It incorporates Jesse Appell’s seven years of writing and performing comedy in China and lots of stories about learning how people can come together through laughter.

Jesse Appell (艾杰西) is a Fulbright Scholar Alumni, intercultural comedian, and entrepreneur based in Beijing. He is a disciple of master Xiangsheng performer Ding Guangquan, and regularly perform Xiangsheng, bilingual improv comedy, and Chinese stand-up live and on TV, appearing on “Roast Battle,” “Post-80s Talk Show,” and other Chinese shows totaling hundreds of millions of views.
