Ross Perlin is a writer and linguist based in Brooklyn. His book, "Intern Nation: How to Earn Nothing and Learn Little in the Brave New Economy," launched a national discussion about unpaid labor and American economics. His current project, and the topic of his talk, examines third world poverty within America's borders.
