video thumbnail
A Malaysian herself, she has studied in Los Angeles, Singapore and Canberra, and worked previously in Singapore and Frankfurt.

Drawing from personal experience, historical scholarship and a critical engagement in how race and genetics are linked, Sandra’s talk will take us on a journey through different meanings of race and common misconceptions regarding genetics.

She will talk about the impact of wearable technology and social media on humanity and inspire us to think critically about the new rules we need to create for this new, virtual world.
Dr Sandra Khor Manickam is Assistant Professor of History at Erasmus University Rotterdam. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
