Fleeing the Syrian Civil War to take on the life of a Muslim in America, Sarah tells a story of personal experience that aims to break stigmas surrounding Muslims and refugees in America.
Sarah Ali is a passionate student activist who has held local, state, and national leadership roles impacting over 250,000 people. As a freshman in high school, Sarah launched the Donating to Refugees campaign, collecting over 15,000 pounds of clothing for refugees around the world. Sarah is a senior at Centennial High School. This talk was delivered on June 9, 2019 at the first-ever TEDxYouth@Camas event. The 2019 event theme - Seeing the Invisible - focused on bringing attention to the ideas, stories, and communities that are often overlooked in life.
