2023 NFL Draft: Seattle Seahawks 5th & 6th Round Picks Ft. Mike Morris, Olu Oluwatimi & Jerrick Reed |

Seattle Seahawks Draft: with the 151st pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, Pete Carroll and John Schneider selected Mike Morris, defensive line from Michigan football. According to NFL Draft analysts with Chat Sports, The Athletic, The Ringer and PFF: Mike Morris is a massive defensive end from Michigan with an NFL-projectable body. He broke out in 2022 with 9 sacks and an 86.8 pass-rushing grade. Morris is quick to engage and disengage with his hands, and knows how to use his length as a pass rusher. However, he approaches blocks high and has limited experience. He's more of a two-down defender right now, which could limit him at the next level. If Morris sheds a few pounds and improves his conditioning, he could be a real force in the NFL.
Mike Morris stats (2022 season): 23 TKL, 7 SACK, 1 FF About Mike Morris, The Athletic's Dane Brugler says: 'Morris doesn’t currently rush with savvy and needs to broaden his assortment of moves, but he is a nimble-footed power rusher with the scheme-diverse traits to be a sound run defender. He has the talent to be a rookie rotational end with NFL starting upside.' Scouting Report on Mike Morris via Chat Sports' Tom Downey: - Coming off a breakout year with Michigan after limited production beforehand - Good run stopper who uses his length well - Tweener with leverage issues and bad testing for a defensive end How will Seattle react to the Seahawks draft picks in the 2023 NFL Draft? John Schneider and Pete Carroll look to take back the NFC West behind QB Geno Smith. NFL Draft scouting report (via analysts at The Athletic, Chat Sports, PFF and The Ringer): Oluwatimi was a four-year starter and won both the Rimington and Outland trophies in 2022. Oluwatimi is an outstanding processor and has good recall, which helps him stay in the right position. He has good short-area quickness and can cut off rush lanes. He has good clamp strength and can hunker down in pass protection. Olu Oluwatimi Pre-Draft Testing: Sprints: 40-yd: 5.38 Scouting Report on Olu Oluwatimi via Chat Sports' Tom Downey: - 4-year starter who really benefitted from transfer to Michigan - Smart player who projects more as a center - Not a great athlete with small hands by NFL standards About Jerrick Reed II, The Athletic's Dane Brugler says: 'Reed needs to put a higher premium on attacking field leverage, but he has the aggressive read-react skills to play fast regardless of depth (on defense and special teams).' Jerrick Reed II stats (2022 season): 93 TKL, 1 INT, 11 PBU Seahawks Draft Selections - 2023 NFL Draft: RD1, #5: Devon Witherspoon (CB, Illinois) RD1, #20: Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR, Ohio St.) RD2, #37: Derick Hall (EDGE, Auburn) RD2, #52: Zach Charbonnet (RB, UCLA) RD4, #108: Anthony Bradford (OG, LSU) RD4, #123: Cameron Young (DL, Mississippi St.) RD5, #151: Mike Morris (DL, Michigan) RD5, #154: Olu Oluwatimi (C, Michigan) RD6, #198: Jerrick Reed II (S, New Mexico) RD7, #237: Jerrick Reed II Pre-Draft Testing: Sprints: 40-yd: 4.44 Seahawks Fans!
