The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists is a renowned nonprofit organization dedicated to informing the public about threats to humanity's survival, with a particular focus on nuclear weapons, climate change, and disruptive technologies. Founded in 1945 by Manhattan Project scientists who recognized the urgent need to address the dangers posed by nuclear weapons, the Bulletin remains a leading voice in global security discourse. Through its authoritative publications, expert analysis, and public outreach efforts, the Bulletin strives to foster dialogue, promote informed decision-making, and advocate for policies that safeguard humanity's future.

The Doomsday Clock is a symbolic representation of the global risk posed by existential threats, particularly nuclear weapons and climate change. Conceived by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists in 1947, the Clock's hands are periodically adjusted to indicate how close humanity is to catastrophe, with midnight representing the hypothetical "doomsday." Factors such as geopolitical tensions, technological advancements, and environmental degradation influence the Clock's position. The annual announcement of the Clock's setting serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for concerted action to mitigate these threats and preserve a peaceful and sustainable world for future generations.
