Once again, Vovlo Belgium provided me with a car for a few days to test out and write/film a review about. This time it was the 2021 Volvo XC40 T4 Recharge R-design.



The 2021 Volvo XC40 T4 Recharge R-design has a 1.5 litre 3 cylinder engine paired with a 10.7kwh battery with a combined output of 211ps and 405NM of torque.


With my time during the 6 days i had the car i noticed that i never even had to top up the fuel tank as around town i mostly drove on electric power and when the battery had drained i switched to the engine to recharge it, which happened pretty fast. I never even felt the need to charge the battery at a charging station because the engine already did such a great job charging it.


The 2021 Volvo XC40 T4 Recharge will be more economical and financially interesting than it's sibling the Vovlo XC40 T5 Recharge. The XC40 T5 Recharge does have more power but it's not by a large margin and you will definetely have more than enough with the T4 Recharge for daily use.
