I wrote this song when I was in college, as I was having a conversation with God. It is incredibly easy to let self reflection paralyze you. It is easy to become obsessed with yourself and your own pain and joy, inadequacies and abilities. In the midst of being consumed in my own thoughts and feelings, I felt God speaking to my heart to look outside of myself; my life is not meant to be wasted on me becoming my best self, rather to be spent on being a voice of hope to the world. As we walk through life, often we find the most healing when we are helping others who are hurting and broken. I believe that is because it is in those moments that we see the face of God. My prayer is that this song would speak to your heart and encourage you to look outside of yourself and to the ends of the earth.
