History buffs, this one's for you. There's an event at the Hampton History Museum honoring free and enslaved Black landholders and entrepreneurs who settled on the banks of the York River. The community became known as "The Reservation." Here to tell us more about life in the Reservation community are Mary Lassiter and Johnette Weaver.
