THREADS VS TWITTER, ELON MUSK VS MARK ZUCKERBERG

Bad luck or bad decisions what would you say ?

After witnessing everything happening to twitter and its new owner Elon musk.

After multiple law suits Elon Musk has finally acquired Twitter in October last year by paying a whopping 44 billion dollar deal.

In just one month since Musk's takeover, Twitter has already lost 50 of its top 100 advertisers. These companies reportedly have paid Twitter over $255 million since 2020.

Mass layoffs and the exodus of advertisers were firm enough signals of financial troubles at Twitter.

In November 2022, just a few weeks after taking over Twitter, Musk said that he did not rule out the company going bankrupt.

As recently as this year in February, Twitter CEO Elon Musk had tweeted to say that the past three months have been "extremely tough" as he "had to save Twitter from bankruptcy" while also fulfilling his duties at Tesla and SpaceX. 

As if Twitter's woes weren't enough, on July 6th, 2023, Mark Zuckerberg launched a Twitter rival app called Threads which is an exact copy of twitter.

Last Month these two titans of Tech challenged each other for a physical fight, it wasn’t clear if they were joking. But Threads vs twitter put them into a digital age battle which cannot be ignored or forgiven by each other.

So what does launch of threads means for Elon musk and should he be worried.

The answer is a resounding yes.

Threads is an exact copy of Twitter with some minor differences, and its user base is growing rapidly.

In fact, Threads has become the fastest-growing online platform in history, with over 100 million followers within the first five days.

With the seamless transition of Instagram users to Threads and Instagram's massive user base of over 2.3 billion, Threads poses a real threat to Twitter.

Comparing Threads and Twitter

Both platforms are microblogging platforms that allow you to attach photos, GIFs, and videos to your posts. You can chain up multiple posts on both platforms to express your thoughts effectively.

Additionally, you can follow people, like, favorite, repost, or retweet their posts on both Threads and Twitter.

However, Twitter holds several advantages over Threads.

Firstly, Threads lacks a full-fledged web client, unlike Twitter, which allows for complete interactions on the web.

Additionally, hashtags, a quintessential feature of Twitter, are not yet available on Threads.

Twitter offers two feeds, including an algorithm-driven one and a chronological one, while Threads currently has only one feed.

Twitter also offers features like lists and bookmarks, along with its subscription service, Twitter Blue.

Furthermore, Twitter has established buying and placement systems for advertising, which Threads is still working on implementing. Twitter also provides user data APIs, albeit at varying access levels depending on payment plans, while Threads lacks this feature at present.

Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, has expressed his vision of turning Twitter into an "everything app" called X.

He believes that Twitter can be used to provide a voice for those who don't have one in the physical world, contributing to the betterment of humanity.

Musk's reputation for advancing technology and striving for a better future aligns with his aspirations for Twitter.

On the other hand, Mark Zuckerberg, the creator of Threads and owner of Facebook, has faced accusations of copying and leveraging users' personal information in the past.

From the inception of Facebook to the copying of features from TikTok, Snapchat, and even Twitter, Zuckerberg has been involved in various controversies.

Twitter threatens to sue its new rival, but only time will tell how this digital battle unfolds.
