Russia and Ukraine are expected to sign a deal on Friday to resume exports of Ukrainian grain with Kyiv committing to clearing mines from ports and Moscow promising not to fire on convoys.
The office of the Turkish president said on Thursday that officials from Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres would sign the deal at 2.30pm on Friday in Istanbul. A preliminary agreement was reached during talks in Istanbul last week and it would now be put in writing, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s office said on Friday.
