The South African parliament is debating an amendment to the constitution to allow for land expropriation without compensation. Those in favor see it as a way to redress the economic legacy of colonialism and #apartheid. Around 90% of privately owned farmland in #SouthAfrica is owned by white people. Our team on the ground went to the Diemersfontein Wine Estate near Cape Town to take a look at a model being touted as an alternative vehicle of #blackEmpowerment.
