The Naomi Osaka press controversy has seemingly come to an end, as the world number two has withdrawn from the 2021 French Open. Osaka was scheduled to play Ana Bodgan in the second round on Wednesday, but after Roland Garros issued a statement yesterday essentially threatening her with default, she’s gone ahead and pulled out. The default threat and the $15,000 fine Naomi received was due to her saying that she wasn’t going to do any press citing mental health concerns. Osaka also revealed that she has been dealing with depression for a while now and will be taking a break from tennis.
