The Holy Roman Empire is known as one of the biggest imperial institutions during the Medieval Age. This "Empire" was full of different ethnicities, religions and cultures. It wasn't an empire in the true meaning of the word and more so of an institution, for the lack of a better word.
We all know a lot about the HRE but we don't really know how did it actually form. Its roots are traced back all the way from Frankish Kingdoms and from men like Charlemagne. Also how much the relationship with the Pope and the Church influenced this Empire and the Kingdoms of Central Europe. This is "How Did The Holy Roman Empire Form" by Armchair Historian!
