Even if the first movie was a box office hit, a Doctor Strange 2 sequel wasn’t officially announced until now. Given the character’s fate in Infinity War as well as the secrecy concerning Marvel’s Phase IV movies, it is understandable.

However, the sequel was teased. Most recently, director Scott Derrickson posted a pic featuring the Sorcerer Supreme on his Instagram account. And the photo revealed two important details about Doctor Strange 2.

According to The GWW, #Marvel will shoot next June a new movie, one that hasn’t been announced just yet. The website lists The Eternals, Black Widow, and Doctor Strange 2 as possible contenders.

At the same time, The Mirror has published a new reports, according to which Benedict Cumberbatch has received a substantial in pay for the sequel. According to the publication, the star of this solo franchise will receive $9.5 million, which is $6 million more than what he earned for the first movie. Given these two reports, as well as Scott Derrickson’s tease, one can only understand that Marvel is gearing up for this sequel.
