QATAR World Cup security gets enhanced by military fighter jets ahead of final.
Eight Eurofighter Typhoon jets are stationed at Dukhan Airbase and are being used to help keep the tournament secure. They are part of 12-Squadron, a joint RAF and Qatari Emiri Air Force (QEAF) squadron that was established in 2018 as part of a training programme after Qatar agreed to purchase Eurofighter Typhoon jets. When the matches are over, collaboration between the two air forces will continue. Planes have been patrolling airspace over Qatar during the tournament, which has so far passed off without any major security incidents. Military personnel from the US, Italy, France, Pakistan and Turkey are also involved in keeping the World Cup safe.
