India challenged the hegemony of five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, asking how long will the will of the five members override the collective will of 188 member states. “This must change,” said Ruchira Kamboj, India’s permanent representative at the United Nations while calling for UNSC reforms. This comes after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that India would get the permanent seat at UNSC, but not easily. Tesla boss Elon Musk recently said that India not having a permanent seat at the UNSC was “absurd”.
