After a brief hiatus, today I'm joined by watch expert and entrepreneur Marc Frankel of Long Island Watch for a fun #WatchTalk episode featuring 10 watches we'd like to see reissued—plus a few honorable mentions. Following a few recent watch releases causing quite a stir in the watch world—principally the Tudor Ranger 39mm and Seiko Sports 5 GMT for 2022—we put together a list of 10 watches we think brands should reissue for their fans and fellow watch enthusiasts. In this video we delve into the reasons behind our desire to see these watches on the market once again, including some personal motivations, like my nostalgic and sentimental attachment to the Citizen Eagle 7, a 1980s homage to the Rolex Day-Date and Datejust. We also discuss our thoughts on the recent Richard Mille for Ferrari RM UP-01, the greatest GMT ever made by Bulova and Accutron, the only way Fortis watches will compete with Omega Speedmasters, and one of the most influential and underrated Longines watches co-designed by legendary World War 2 navigator P.V.H Weems. We then take a look at the iconic multimillion dollar auctioned Marlon Brando Rolex GMT Pepsi 1675, long lost classics from Invicta (including a bygone surfboard style chronograph) as well as the high beat Kingline, a watch from the golden age of Zodiac. Naturally, this watch talk episode wouldn't be complete without a segment on Seiko, so we discuss why we think Seiko should celebrate their ball head invention by bringing it back, along with the Pogue—their most iconic chronograph of all time.
