Strengthen the player's core and chest muscles in preparation for scrummaging.

This drill is one of many you can use to develop the body awareness and core stability required for optimal scrummaging. Level: High School & Above Categories: Scrums Coaching Points: 00:1:04.000 - The Cat must maintain good strong scrummaging body position 00:1:28.000 - Feet and hands at the same width Instructions: #1. Set up with 2 players. #2. 1 player sets up on all fours in a cat like position (the Cat). #3. On go the other player pushes him to the side #4. The ‘Cat’ immediately springs back exactly to the same spot. #5. The other player continues this for approximately 30 seconds. #6. Rotate positions. Contributors: #1.
