One thing (of the many) skills he has is:

He operates from first order principles.
He thinks CRITICALLY,

Instead of just accepting what is the “norm”

Most people are conditioned to just accept an idea, mindlessly, without much thinking about it, especially if it comes from an authority figure.

While, this does save human beings time and energy,
It doesn’t really create innovation or spark creativity.

But when you operate from first order principles and ask yourself WHY multiple times,

You get to the bottom layers of an idea,
Thereby starting from the foundations, rather than building something on top of lousy foundations, which can create an unstable “building”

TL;DR:
Think critically.
Think creatively.

Questions things and ask why.

Efficiency will come, when you put function front and center,
Instead of focusing on the “form.”
