In this video, I will tell you how to hike to the new erupting volcano in Iceland in 2022. This volcano erupted August 3, 2022 and is called Fagradalsfjall volcano. The Fagradalsfjall volcano eruption of 2022 is the third eruption in this location in the last two years. It also erupted in a caldera in 2021 spring and continued for 6 months. The new eruption is called a fissure eruption, the magma and lava is leaking and boiling through the cracks in the tectonic plates. The Iceland airport in Reykjavik Keflavik (KEF) has been undisturbed by the volcanic events. This location is called Meradalir.
