EWB Conversations is a series of intimate conversation-style evenings with prominent people in the technical and development spheres. This was the first EWB Conversation.

Nana Oye Lithur is the Chief Executive Director of the Human Rights Advocacy Centre and is a respected human rights activist in Ghana. Since 2004 she has worked as the Regional Coordinator (Africa Office) for the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI). Nana has been involved with the Coordinated African Regional Survey on Access to Information for Ghana, as well as running an access to justice program and a human rights clinic and coordinating the Coalition on the Freedom of Information Bill in Ghana. Nana has led several fact finding missions to investigate human rights violations and presents human rights lectures for journalism students. Nana has been recognised for her work in human rights and in 2008 was a recipient and champion torch bearer for women's rights, one of 100 selected globally by the Danish Government. She was also a recipient of the Vera Chirwa Award for human rights in Africa, in 2007, from the University of Pretoria.
