The National Film Awards gala reception was place today at the Bangabandhu International Convention Centre.

On behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud presented the prizes to 29 awardees in 27 categories.

Hasanul Haq Inu, Chairman of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting's Standing Committee, was present as a special guest, and the event was presided over by Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud.

The Lifetime Achievement Award for the year 2020 was jointly handed to renowned artists Anwara Begum and Raisul Islam Asad at the occasion.
Raisul Islam Asad flew in from the United States to attend the ceremony, however Anwara Begum had to cancel due to sickness.

Mukti, Anwara Begum's daughter, accepted the award on her mother's behalf.

For his work in "Bishwoshundori," Siam Ahmed received the prize for Best Actor in a Lead Role (Male).
Deepanwita Martin was named Best Actress in a Leading Role (Female) for her performance in "Gor."

"Gor" (The Grave) by Gazi Rakayet and Faridur Reza Sagar and "Bishwoshundori" by Anjan Chowdhury shared the Best Film prize.

Misha Sawdagor was named Best Actor in a Negative Part for his role in "Bir," while Fazlur Rahman Babu was named Best Supporting Actor (Male) for his role in "Bishwoshundori." Aparna Ghose's work in "Gondi" earned her the title for Best Supporting Actress (Female).
