Can you train yourself to deal with difficult times? | Avi Liran | TEDxXardíndoPosío

video thumbnail
Avi Liran introduces radical, simple and a funny hack to find deep joy in emotional pain, toxic situations, and difficult people.

Working since 2006 with thousands of leaders and managers, Avi is researching the concept of delightful leadership and creating delightful workplace cultures.

When we are triggered, our ego often takes control, hurting our ability to be congruent, consistent and kind in our treatment of others. Avi labels this as “Airplane Mode” in our human operating system, which strains our relationships and is harmful to customer service consistency.

Avi shows us how we can release the pain for us and others with a singing ritual that may look ridiculous at first glance. This trains our mind to switch to “Delight Mode,” shifting focus from problems and suffering to solutions.

Originally from Tel Aviv, he arrived in Singapore in 1992 as Israel's trade and tourism commissioner. He was the marketing director of two software companies, holds an MBA in Marketing and Entrepreneurship and is a CSP (Certified Speaking Professional).
Aví is a consultant and is dedicated to training the management teams of major Fortune 500 companies on how to cultivate engaging leadership that strengthens a culture that facilitates a great experience for employees and customers.
As a diplomat and economist, he created two funds between Israel and Singapore that now manage over $1 billion. As a venture capital strategist, he facilitated 9 investments in start-up companies in Israel for Singapore Telecom. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
