Labour's deputy leader Kelvin Davis is the current incumbent for Te Tai Tokerau, and while he has a firm grip on the seat, that's not stopping the likes of his competition, Mariameno Kapa-Kingi from the Māori Party, and Advance Party’s Billy Te Kahika, from vying for the electorate’s mandate. Te Tai Tokerau stretches from Te Rerenga Wairua down to Tāmaki Makaurau.
