Al Jazeera's Gaza bureau chief, Wael Dahdouh, lost his wife, son, daughter and grandson after they were killed in a reported Israeli airstrike on Wednesday.

Al Jazeera reported that an Israeli airstrike hit Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza, where Dahdouh’s family had been sheltering. Dahdouh learned the news on-air.

He returned to work one day later and thanked viewers for their prayers.
