Social Converging: The Key to Global Citizenship | Jaeyi Kim | TEDxYouth@SWA

In this era, global citizenship is one of the most popular topics to be discussed. But many of them stop on the one-stop theory itself. Whereas, global citizenship needs repetitive real actions to combine all the ideas, visions, ambitions, successes, and even failures to regenerate and reform in a cycle.

In her talk, Jaeyi shared her experience in embracing global citizenship through real-life action, from volunteering in some projects, participating in a global education program, and challenging her own point of view to widen her perspective as a global citizen.

Jaeyi is a 10th-grader in Sinarmas World Academy with an implacable aspiration to become an 'ophthalmologist who types hope'. Deeply engrossed in the values of global citizenship, she has always had a penchant for writing and innovating.

Over the course of her writing journey, Jaeyi has published two books of her own, and won the grand award of the 4th MilkT Creative Writing Contest, being registered as an official children’s storybook writer. Also immersed in the United Nations and its Sustainable Development Goals, she joined the 20th Training Program on the United Nations and its SDGs this January at the UN Headquarters in New York.

Through her altruistic journey, Jaeyi hopes to expand her knowledge and cognition towards medicine ultimately. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
