Leonardo Dicaprio wins OSCAR OSCAR 2016.....! |

he Revenant has been sweeping away all the major awards including the best actor trophy, be it the Golden Globe, Critics' Choice awards, SAG awards and BAFTA.
But these Academy members were not convinced by his performance as they revealed the list of actors and movies they voted for. They feel Leonardo DiCaprio should not be given an Oscar just because the film was 'hard to make'. "I rule out Leonardo immediately because it's a ridiculous performance. They are running his campaign based on how hard it was to make the movie, right? I'm tired of hearing about it - that's what he gets paid for! I mean, this was not Nanook of the North (a 1922 docu-drama shot in the Arctic), for Christ's sake. Give me a break. He got millions of dollars, and I would assume they had heaters," an anonymous voter said. The Academy member even lambasted Cate Blanchett-starrer Carol as he said, "Forget Cate Blanchett - her film (Carol) is more about decor and what everyone wears than anything of substance." Carol could not make it to the best picture category this year. Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara have been nominated for the best actress and best actress in supporting role categories. The film has received six nominations in total. Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's film has received 12 nominations in total. The 88th Academy Awards ceremony will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, on February 28, 2016. |
