Building Unique Cities | Olga Chepelianskaia | TEDxFMS |
|
Olga Chepelianskaia believes that unique visual identities in cities determine our wellbeing. We are not meant to live in uniform concrete urban jungles all across the world, yet this is how we majorly build our cities today. Does it have to be so or do we have a say in it? What can we do to make our cities sustainable, inclusive, connecting and uplifting? The talk dwells into why building unique is critically important today and what we can do to reintroduce uniqueness in our cities. Olga is a Founder of UNICITI, a think tank and consultancy that helps cities harness on their unique natural and cultural assets to become economically competitive, socially vibrant, sustainable and climate resilient. She has worked with prominent international organizations such as ADB, CDIA, Rockefeller Foundation, UNECE, UNEP, UNESCAP, UNDP and with a number of NGOs. She is also a certified Kathak dancer and choreographer.
