This is the first year Heartlands Academy have participated in the BBC School Report. We chose to focus on the importance of role models within the media and wider community.

Year 8 have worked tirelessly on this project, and have stepped up to the challenge of interviewing a host of famous faces.

Hopefully, after watching our final report, your own interpretation of what a role model is will be challenged. Not one of our interviewees gave a similar definition, but all were quite adamant that a true role model is one who is available to us and encourages us to evolve in the best possible way; one who may not necessarily be found on the front cover of a magazine – but who could be living far closer to home, instead.
