1. A handful of Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday ousted Republican Speaker Kevin McCarthy, as party infighting plunged Congress into further chaos just days after it narrowly averted a government shutdown.

2. U.S. President Joe Biden plans to announce on Wednesday that his administration has approved an additional $9 billion in student debt relief for 125,000 borrowers, the White House said.

3. Sam Bankman-Fried's trial on charges of stealing billions of dollars from customers of his now-bankrupt FTX cryptocurrency exchange is set to resume on Wednesday, with the judge aiming to finish selecting a jury and move on to opening statements.

4. Italian authorities were investigating on Wednesday the cause of the horrific crash of a bus carrying foreign tourists on the outskirts of Venice which killed 21 people including several children and injured 15 others.

5. Authorities in Thailand charged a 14-year-old boy with premeditated murder and illegal possession of a firearm on Wednesday after a shooting spree at a Bangkok mall using what police said was a modified pistol intended to fire blanks.
