Mastery is a book by Robert Greene that explores the secrets of achieving excellence in any field. In this video, I will give you a summary of the main ideas and insights from the book, as well as my personal review and opinion.

Around the globe, people are facing the same problem - that we are born as individuals but are forced to conform to the rules of society if we want to succeed. To see our uniqueness expressed in our achievements, we must first learn the rules - and then how to change them completely.

Charles Darwin began as an underachieving schoolboy, Leonardo da Vinci as an illegitimate outcast. The secret of their eventual greatness lies in a 'rigorous apprenticeship': by paying close and careful attention, they learnt to master the 'hidden codes' which determine ultimate success or failure. Then, they rewrote the rules as a reflection of their own individuality, blasting previous patterns of achievement open from within.

Told through Robert Greene's signature blend of historical anecdote and psychological insight and drawing on interviews with world leaders, Mastery builds on the strategies outlined in The 48 Laws of Power to provide a practical guide to greatness - and how to start living by your own rules.

The book is divided into six parts, each focusing on a different aspect of mastery. The first part is about discovering your calling, or finding the field that matches your natural inclinations and passions. The second part is about submitting to reality, or learning from the best mentors and models in your field. The third part is about the creative-active phase, or developing your skills and knowledge through practice and experimentation. The fourth part is about the power of intuition, or tapping into your subconscious mind and trusting your instincts. The fifth part is about the high end, or mastering the art of combining different elements and creating something original and unique. The sixth part is about the evolutionary dynamic, or adapting to change and overcoming challenges.

The book is full of examples and stories of historical and contemporary masters, such as Leonardo da Vinci, Mozart, Einstein, Darwin, Steve Jobs, and many others. The book shows how they followed the same path to mastery, and how we can learn from their experiences and apply their principles to our own lives.

If you are interested in learning more about mastery and how to achieve it, I highly recommend you to read this book or listen to its audio version.
