It uses a concept called "just-in-time" inventory. As context, when managing our inventory, we can "push" or "pull". Pushing is when we produce lots of inventory, typically in large batches, which results in lots of waste. Pulling is when we produce only when it's needed, so we have it "just-in-time." We cannot "pull" materials without a Kanban signal.
