We enjoyed the Andaz Costa Rica so much we’ve been twice. Once as a couple and then with our son and friends. It has a beautiful entry way and you are greeted with a drink and a refreshing cool hand towel upon arrival. This may be my favorite guest room of all time. My son and I loved all the bamboo. The shower was magical with the clear glass towards the top of the shower. On our first trip, we even saw a monkey while showering. They pre-made a rollaway bed for our son with a complimentary hat and flip-flops on it. They also had complimentary hats and flip-flops for us too. This resort has 2 beaches. One you can walk to from the main property. To get to the other beach, you can take a speed boat or you can get in a van and then take a golf cart to reach it. I recommend doing both as each are fun in their own way. Our favorite beach was the one farther away. The sand and water were much nicer. We loved their complementary kayaks and paddle boards - which were available at both beaches. We also enjoyed the pools. They were so pretty looking over the bay and the service was great while we were in them. There were lots of iguanas over the property and you could find howler monkeys at certain times of the day. Usually early morning and late afternoon. The best places to see them are in the trees by the lobby, and on the walking bridges to the beach on the main property. Keep in mind, the howler monkeys make a lot of noise … especially very early in the morning. They really sound like a scary ghost when they howl. The only downside of this resort, if you’re not super in shape, is all the stairs and hills. There are tons of stairs and hills. They do offer golf carts service if you need it. It was all walkable for us … we were just a bit winded at times. Everyone spoke really good english, so it was very easy to communicate. Everyone was extremely nice and friendly too. We love this Andaz!
