This short video traces the origins of Florida State College at Jacksonville's (formerly Florida Community College at Jacksonville's) English as a Second Language program from its founding in 1986 through 1992, discussing the community need which drove the creation of the program, the challenges it faced, and the faculty involved with its creation. The video includes some footage of the Downtown Campus lobby mural known as "The Family of Humanity" created by Professor Anna Banas and her class in 1990.
