Ratan Kahar is a forgotten folk artist from the red soils of Bengal. The art and culture movements in Bengal, in 1972 he had penned this famous Bangla folk song “Bawro loker beti lo…”. It became an instant hit in the rural circles and he began performing in public shows across villages.
singer Swapna Chakraborty, a once famous singer, copied the lyrics from Ratan’s song book and sung her own version in 1976. She did find fame with the song ,Swapna Chakraborty forgot all about Ratan after she found fame.
Rapper from Bollywood .Baadshah claims to be the composer of this song but forgets to mention all about Ratan Kahar.
