Israel has launched a special forces operation that's freed two Israeli hostages in Rafah. The operation included airstrikes, which local health officials said killed and wounded dozens in the southern Gaza city. The hostages were taken to a hospital near Tel Aviv. The two men who have since been identified, were kidnapped by Hamas on October 7 along with around 250 others.
Israel has responded with a military assault on the Gaza Strip that is said to have since killed more than 28,000 Palestinians.
