The Temple in Kyoto Where the Souls of Shinsengumi Samurai Rest in Peace

video thumbnail
Today we are going to be taking you to 壬生寺 Mibu-dera, the temple related to the famous Shinsengumi. 壬生 Mibu is where the Shinsengumi was formed in 1863, and this temple was used as their military art training grounds. Today, there are graves of 11 members who belonged to the squad.

Although this temple is popular among Shinsengumi fans, it is rarely visited by most people. So if you’re tired of going to shrines or temples that are crowded with people, this place is a great option.
