A principios del siglo 20 la vieja plaza Garibaldi era un sitio conocido por sus pequeños comercios, su mercado de objetos de segunda mano y sobre todo por sus cantinas. La fama de las tequilerías y pulquerías de Garibaldi convirtió en esta plaza en una zona de ocio y se popularizó al ser lugar donde se concentraban los maricahis de la ciudad. Ya en el siglo 21 esta plaza se convirtió en tributo a la cultura charra con la creación del museo del Tequila y el Mezcal, la escuela de Mariachis y este museo escultórico al aire libre dedicado a los más grandes folklore charro.

Ruben Alonso visits the Plaza Garibaldi, the hub of mariachi culture in Mexico City. In the early 20th century, the old Garibaldi Square was a place known for its small shops, its second-hand market and especially for its cantinas. The fame of the tequilerías and pulquerías in Garibaldi turned the square into a popular spot for relaxation and the place where the mariachis of the city gathered together. Now in the 21st century, this square is a tribute to Charro culture - you can find the Museum of Tequila and Mezcal, the School of Mariachis, and this open-air sculpture museum dedicated to the greatest of the Charro folklore.
