Diversity Education: Enhancing Our Community Through Inclusion

video thumbnail
The Wake Forest Diversity Education Program was established to support the mission of the university and the Office of Diversity & Inclusion by delivering comprehensive training, coaching and support to faculty, staff and students in the areas of diversity, inclusion, equity, and cultural competence.

In 2009, the GateKeepers Workshop Series was launched to offer training and workshops to faculty, staff and students on the Reynolda Campus in order to support the University's commitment to making Wake Forest a more diverse and inclusive community, emphasizing the importance of each individual in achieving that goal. Since then more than 1,000 members of our community have participated in cultural competence education. The diversity education program at Wake Forest has grown immensely to include a range of educational opportunities including training related to cross-cultural conflict and communication, values, contact theory, unconscious bias, SafeZone Training, cultural competency coaching and workshops about diverse cultures.

This video highlights the impact of the GateKeepers Workshop Series. For more information about diversity & inclusion at Wake Forest, please visit http://diversity.provost.wfu.edu.
