Opposite the barracks there is a monument, which is popularly nicknamed Tondi poissid - Tondi boys or boys, in memory of the cadets who died on December 1, 1924 during the communist uprising. The sculptor is Amandus Adamson himself, the author of the beloved "Mermaid" in Pirita.
