Youth poet laureate Amanda Gorman said she was racially profiled

Youth poet laureate Amanda Gorman, 22, said she was racially profiled outside of her home by a security guard last week, she revealed on Friday. BNC Start Your Day hosts Sharon Reed and Mike Hill discuss the young woman's revelation and the importance of people speaking out.

"It's important for [Gorman] and others to speak out," Hill said. "It happens every single day to Black folks and people of color. ... I have been profiled numerous times. I have been pulled over by the police for what I know is the color of my skin."
