A winter storm watch was issued for counties in the foothills of North Carolina as a storm system will bring the threat of ice and sleet to the region late Friday into Saturday. Chief Meteorologist Brad Panovich has the latest update in this vlog. Up to a quarter-inch of ice is possible in some areas, including Morganton, Lenoir and North Wilkesboro. There could be a trace of ice in areas further south, such as HIckory, Statesville, Lincolnton and even Mooresville.
